I visited Joss yesterday and he showed me a recent acquisition, an ink bottle or similar with a beautiful maker's stamp impressed in the bottom.

No photo ability yet so I noted the stamp as below.


S.Kirkpatrick&Co.
Nelson.N.Z

top line curved over a device, two opposed lines or blades with a star or other (this part from memory) centre, not connected, bottom line flat. All caps and small caps, dot under raised o in Co.

I will ask about this on the bricks etc facebook.

Have you seen Long White Kid's pages on the S. Kirkpatrick and Co's products?

It could be that somewhere between 1881 and 1970 they manufactured a product that needed a ceramic container?
