Simon Engelhard sugar bowl
I really thought I had a piece of Simon's work, but I have looked high and low through my stash to no avail. When I spied this sugar bowl I pounced on it and I couldn't believe how it felt in my hands!
The glaze was as smooth as silk and yet very fat and waxy and I couldn't stop stroking it.
A rich green breaking to browns with minimal decoration. The clay is a real warm colour and has been in a reduction firing.
So pleased to be able to get a feel for this work as it's really amazing.
