"Tai" pepper and salt ???

I went along to Jim's today to meet Thelma on her whirlwind Whangarei tour.
Among Jim's recent finds is this Crown Lynn "Titian Ware" pepper shaker.

"Titian Ware" pepper shaker, about 4 1/2 in H

I thought at first it might be one of the missing "Tai" shapes at 1412 but it is missing the double bands that appear on the mug so my next guess is that it belongs with the canisters in the 1440s, although it is still not an exact shape match, and there are no spare numbers adjacent.

I'm not sure that the writing says Titianware Jeremy.
I've blown it up and still can't make it out clearly.
The clay doesn't look right to me either ..... ?

We were in a rush today with Thelma's whirlwind tour, let's have a good look at this next time we are back at Jim's.

It did appear more like Titian Ware for real, but I did notice it looking a bit off in the photo. Sure we can check again next time.

Gee, at first look it looked like it said Titian, but perhaps confused by the italic writing? Sort of looks like Orzel, but maybe something else again??

Could this shape at Portage be the "Tai" pepper or salt shaker, 1411, 1412 ?

I think it is a remodelling of the bobbles (Country Fair) salt and peppers 1273 & 1274. I have made a montage and the basic shapes (less the surface articulation) match. The surface detail matches the Tai mug: note the two bands scraped more heavily than the rest. Also, the Portage piece is a plaster model, so once shrinkage is allowed for the measurements match: 1273-4 are 138mm H x 73 OD base and Portage 2009.1.538 is 148 x 82.

Here are the two side by side, and scaled to match.

Also, wondering where they got the name "Tai" for this range.
Could it have been from John Tai Tin?
