Thank you so much for sharing these 2tuis cheers

2tuis words:
Here are some wonderful works/ shapes  that you may like for the pottery guide by Jovan Rancich

The small brown Jovan Rancich looks like a Len Castle Lavaish piece and is 7 cm tall. Clearly stamped and not like any piece we've seen before.

The larger piece is unmarked, sold from the same collector, deep greens and blues,  18cm tall.

The medium piece with lighter, brighter Colusa ti on,  similar to some of Manos's vases is clearly marked and stands 14cm tall.

That first glaze didn't turn out quite as intended did it. Craters of the moon or swamp-chic? The other two are lovely.

I see the lava pot as a glaze that has just started to melt when it changes into craters and bubbles.  There could be many reasons that stopped the pot from reaching the right glaze temperature.

Thanks for your input. Had considered though, for an artist that was so proficient with his glazes & finishes at that time, would have perhaps binned this piece if it was a mistake. So perhaps he may have been experimenting outside the realms of his norm with different textures and expressions of his art???

The vase could have been refired successfully,  but for some reason it wasn't.   There will be a story behind that pot I feel.  I really don't think it was an experimental glaze as Rancich was a wizard when it came to glazes.

Yes, alas, a story probably lost unfortunately after the early 40 ' s.  An individual & unusual piece non the less. Love getting the positive & lateral thought that goes into the feedback on this site. Always love the learning from collective, knowledgeable mindsets. Thanks everyone.
