Re: Ginger Jars going crazy now...
The only one I can remember seeing in a Whangarei opshop was $6 for a red one without a lid, couple of years ago. I left it but Ana picked it up later in the week.
I think the start price of $30 was reasonable and based on recent TM sales.
Unfortunately one bid looks like they forgot to check the autobid button, unless second bidder also autobid $100.
Now that Heather, Val, et al have firmly established that the ginger jars are definitely CL they appear to have become a must-have for CL collectors.
Not a must for me but something to go on the list to "pick up if it's going cheap".
Thus the only one I have is a dark blue without lid that Val gave me, and that was just last month.

Re: Ginger Jars going crazy now...
This article on the Portage Ceramic Trust site may have helped too ...
http://portageceramicstrust.org.nz/stories/those-controversial-ginger-jars-by-rosemary-deane/
There are 5 ginger jars in the collection - 3 Red, 1 Green and 1 Turquoise which Richard most likely found in opshops, though there is nothing that states this.
There are about 10 Ginger Jar shards in the collection which would have been found somewhere in the Crown Lynn factory vicinity and I haven't seen any locations for these to date.
There are three colours - Green x5 Red x3 Blue x2.
