Two bright light explosions last night 11.02.2015

Last night at about 10pm I saw 2 flashes of white blinding light that filled my view and nothing else could be seen .... I was confused as it seemed so close "What was that?!!!!"  It was directly in front of me and appeared to be on the golf course outside.  I watched for more and then a few minutes later a deep low decibel rumbling could be heard that went for a few seconds and the dog next door began barking.  I never saw or heard anything else.  
Today there are reports from all over the place including the South Island.  Photos from past events are turning up as pics from last night.  Fortunately my research skills can find that the only capture of this sighting was from a dash-cam, which is not the spectacle that I saw, but a tame version of a the bolide exploding.

How strange !! When we saw it here in Nelson, it was the brightest fluro green you could imagine. We thought someone had set a flare off out at sea or some such. It was definitely very spectacular.
