I have just taken a photo of my mum's (much loved) breakfast bowl from when she was a child. The set was probably bought prior to her birth in 1947 and this is the last surviving piece from the set (4 children in mum's family, followed by 20 grandchildren)  - it does have a chip on the underside though.

What a treasure cheers
The stamp was one of the first used and is from 1943 -1948.
I haven't seen much in the way of tableware with this backstamp, mainly what is called the Paris ware.

I just had a quick look at the 'Paris ware' and it has similarities in the shape (as far as I can tell, comparing a bowl to a saucer) I didn't think to get a profile pic of the bowl (but can do so if that's useful at all)

This pattern is SO Doulton. but look at the backstamp, and those distinctive Paris rings.  From Jim's collection,

This is the same pattern as my mum's childhood cereal bowl (she was born 1947)  Very Happy   Jim's not interested in parting with it by any chance...?
