For which ware did Crown Lynn use the handwritten incised Crown Lynn mark? I can only find it on the Steenstra vases. Have they used it on other ware too?

That is an interesting point haselnuss and when I get a chance I will look into that thought. We have a fair bit handpotted wares on the site to check out.

Incised Crown Lynn Empty Re: Incised Crown Lynn

Post  haselnuss Tue 6 May - 23:20

Hello Ev, I spent all afternoon searching this site and reading the literature I have at home before asking the question. It was bugging me. I just couldn't find the incised Crown Lynn until I saw this post: "Unusual Crown Lynn Bowl" from a few years ago. There is no mention of this incised Crown Lynn mark in any of the books from Gail Lambert/Henry or Valerie Monk. What a mystery.

What I have found out is that the incised Crown Lynn I, and the discussion in "Unusual Crown Lynn Bowl" is talking about, looks different to those incised on some of Daniel Steenstra's vases. The C and the L are written totally differently.
