My initial reaction when I saw this was that it was a margarine container, but it is more likely a small casserole perhaps. it measures (without the lid) 100mm (4") high and 145mm (5.3/4") diameter at the top.

Not sure why the base has come out a different colour, my camera is playing up a little at the moment.  sunny

I have measured my one and 750ml is a real squeeze. Most I could get in was 700:

http://newzealandpottery.forumotion.net/t4127-camille-pattern-casserole-pot#18314

This number should help give us a number for the Barbara's one and my Interlude in the post above, although I can't see a suitable size and description (unless it's the Onion Soup 250ml 5631), and also for the "Camille" casserole,

http://newzealandpottery.forumotion.net/t4127-camille-pattern-casserole-pot#14209

which should be either 5634 or 5635 (lid 8644), depending on capacity (1.5 or 2.25).

I measured very carefully, and it was almost over into the lig groove, but not quite at 750ml, if that helps.

The Sundowner price list at the Museum from 1981 has the numbers for the Bakers that show in that advert - 8625 Large, 8623 Med, 8626 Small and were first made 14.8.78, but for the casseroles it has numbers that include the lid: 773 Casserole & Lid 2 litres, 774 Casserole & Lid 1.5 litres, 778 Casserole & Lid .75 litres and 784 Casserole & Lid Individual .... arghhhh
Just need to find casseroles from around August 1978 I guess  alien

I was wondering if this was the medium baker, 26cm long outside, and 25cm long inside rim.

Yes I believe you are right sunny sunny
The Sundowner range has a photo with a baker like this included and the 8623 fits near enough to your measurement as it says 265mm.
I will add it to the Gallery.
