This mug celebrates the 100 year anniversary of the Melbourne Cricket Ground -
from March 1877 to March 1977.
The Base has AUSTRALIA around the edge with an unreadable name in the middle that starts with what looks like an E and ends perhaps with bo ?? Can anyone identify the maker please?

My money is on Elischer a Victorian potter/pottery. There are variations of this impressed mark which I think is based on the signature of John Elischer.
A Century of Test Cricket.... 100_5010

Elischer made an enormous range of jugs, tankards, goblets and ashtrays often for wineries or distillers. The company made a series of three different size jugs the largest of which is very similar to the Crown Lynn The McCallum 2119 jug. Like Crown Lynn Elischer made branded products for Seppelts

Thank you Tony Very Happy
I can only really make out the E on the maker and it is done in the same unusual way as in your photo.
The glaze has filled in the rest of the letters. Yes it's a tankard for thirsty cricketers Smile
