This Exhibition is being hosted by David Jenkin's daughter and would be well worth visiting!

What a magical day it was too!  The water was like a sheet of glass when we caught the ferry over to Waiheke.  Sue Carmount met us and took us to her breathtaking home hidden amongst a tropical forest, with jaw dropping views.  Her studio and Gallery are unexpected surprises tastefully laid out and filled with handcrafted delights.
The first thing I noticed when we entered the Gallery was a Crown Lynn Peacock standing majestically amid the treasures.  "A PEACOCK!!  You have a PEACOCK!!" I squealed.
It took my breath away.

"Yes," Sue replied .... "It always sat on our mantle at home."
And so we were off to a great start!

I spied a pink jug that I had only seen a drawing of and couldn't help picking it up even though there was a Don't Touch sign to see if it had a number.  Indeed it had 839 on the base and Sue said that there once was a sugar bowl [840] that matched.  The records call the jug Alladins Jug [Yank] and Sugar Pot and Lid [Yank]

Carpay was there too and I hadn't seen this fabulous design before -

David Jenkin sample plates were rather stunning and the first one had 30 written in green on the base

One even had his mark on the back !!

There were also fabulous Anna Church Crown Lynn photographic prints and jewellery by Simon Gamble and Judy Newton using Crown Lynn crockery patterns -

It was fun working out the names of the patterns, though there were two there that I didn't know.  T Shirts and Tea Towels with David Jenkin prints were also available to purchase.

The Exhibition is being extended until January due to it's popularity and is really worth a visit, as that gorgeous Peacock is extremely rare and to see it in real life is perhaps a chance in a lifetime.

*Gasps*  The Auckland Museum have a Peacock in their collection, although it's not in as good condition ...
