Rabbit and Cart Egg Cup Empty Rabbit and Cart Egg Cup

Now although I am not 100% sure about some of the egg cups, I was positive I had the rabbit sorted. The Crown Lynn rabbit pulling a cart has no X on the wheels and the ears do not reach all the way up to the top (as in the gallery). Also, the body is quite petite and does not come out from the cup very much and looks too small to pull the cart. The Royal Art Pottery on the other hand, has an X on the wheel, the ears come right up to the top of the cup and the rabbit is more like a hare, almost as big as the cart that the cup represents. OK.

I found this old post from Ev, yes it is a rabbit egg cup on page 10 of Gail Henry's book. But the ears look to go all the way to the top in both versions of my book.

I had discounted this auction [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] as I thought it to be a Royal Art, but the bidders roused my curiosity, as they are all avid bidders on Crown Lynn. To me the glaze looks like Pates Pottery (like their swans), but now I just don't know.

Rabbit and Cart Egg Cup Empty Re: Rabbit and Cart Egg Cup

Hmmm, I can't find the post that you quoted me from scratch
I checked Gail Henry and that photo is a match for the rabbit on the right. Do you agree?
It's the only old photo that I've seen that has an eggcup in it.
In looking at our Eggcup Gallery, it seems that we have the rabbit on the left in there. Sent to us by HeatherT our eggcupologist, who is currently in Hawaii basking in the sun.
I would like to see what Heather has to say. Plus the glaze on that one listed doesn't look like any of the early experimental glazes that I have seen ...... confused

Rabbit and Cart Egg Cup Empty Re: Rabbit and Cart Egg Cup

It was on this post Ev [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - sorry should have added it in. I know this is a painful topic, and I honestly thought I had it right, but now I am beginning to wonder if I have it backward. I can't find any other references to it either (or photos) to confirm or deny. sunny

It now seems that both rabbit & cart egg cups are Crown Lynn, this is the smaller one.
