Re: Benhar, Hoffman kiln on Trademe
There are two Hoffman Kilns on this Pottery Gallery site.
McSkimmings Benhar and Timaru .
enter Hoffman in 'search'.
I have always thought that it was a curious fact that although Crown Lynn never used Hoffman Kilns the man who was known as the "King of the Kilns" was a Fred Hoffman who eventually became the factory manager and worked there for 30 years.
The Hoffman kiln was the invention in 1858 of his namesake, a German,
Friederich Hoffman and allowed continuous production of ceramic products.
