Very interesting to see the stardust glaze dollcrown.
Are the speckly bits and runs lustre?
Could they have possibly sprayed on the lustre I ask?

re Titian stardust
Yes, I'm sure the gold lustre was sprayed on, and the thicker parts seems to have run down. Will try and take a photo of the base which shows the blobs of gold if you like.

I can imagine that there would be blobs on the base with those runs dollcrown.
Titian spared no expense with lustres really, as these were put on after the glaze firing, with an extra firing just for the lustre to adhere to the glaze.
All lustres are rather expensive, gold being the MOST expensive!
It's all quite mind boggling to think that they sprayed gold lustre
That stardust effect is very appealing though, where it hasn't run

It's very unusual for honjohn to take a bad photo and unfortunately this is one, but do you think this might be the Stardust glaze?

Re Hon John's Trademe piece
Have had one identical and it was just a plain black exterior. Have been wrong before!
