Re: Morris & James Matakana New Zealand
Opshopping is so much fun, as the unexpected can be found!
Check out this piece that signifies 21 years for Morris & James .... probably a give away piece, but it's excellent! Made from terracotta and rather thick, it looks like a small cake of soap!

Morris & James - Matakana
I too found some simalar tiles, at some point, they will be set into a outside brick work and bench BBQ area, thats in the throws of being built
Then this week I saw 2 terracotta matching dishes that I really liked. The op shop only takes cash and I only had enough to buy one.. Hoping the other is still there....
When I saw how colourful their other work is, this is rather plain in comparison.

Morris and James jug
Perhaps this is an early one, with its hand-brushed mark on the base. 12 cm tall.

A jug along the same lines as Maryr's above ..
I find the artwork very striking and enjoyable.

Interesting the difference in the marks on the base. Makes me convinced this must have been early days. Lovely stuff.

I got this gorgeous wall plaque for my eldest daughter, it has the penny farthing mark stamped into the back, terracotta clay, and "A.N." brushed on the back with a black oxide
