Calypso British ~
This design has a sort of speckled spray on colour when seen close up. I have another plate almost the same but the green is slightly different and backstamp is smaller.

Yes, you will be busy Ev. I sent this one because I had not seen it in the galleries. This one was another garage sale bargain. I also got some colourglaze demitasse cups but do you think I can find them now?!!!!

I have just found a red variation dinner plate with the same backstamp as the green ones, a bit worn but OK. Photo to come.

Re: Calypso British ~
So this Calypso British cake plate has the mottled glaze in a shade of maroon. There are other items that have this mottled glaze so they must all be from the same time frame of 1950's and 1960's. I waited until the lady who served me was wrapping it up to say by the way that was made by Crown Lynn. I never convinced her and didn't try very hard really as I was just so pleased to find a pristine old cake plate with a gold rim in this glaze.
A rather faded gold backstamp, but still easy to see what it says ...
