Bakewell Newtone
The Bakewell brothers established a brickworks in the St Peters/Macdonaldtown area in 1884 and soon started producing garden urns, planters, chimney pots and drain pipes. In 1901 they started making tableware. In 1925 the began using the Beulah Ware name, in 1933 Newtone Art Ware and in the early 50s Trent Art Ware. Bakewells closed in 1955 but trent continued to be made by a group of ex-Bakewells workers until the early 60s.
The Newtone ranges included many variations of running glaze effects:
The white bowl has a Bakewell mark the others all Newtone.

Re: Bakewell Newtone
They're currently out of the closet. I might have a re-arrangement when the school term starts. Get some homers, workmen's pieces, samples etc on display.
