Hugh Prosser - expression of interest
Hi all
As Hughs eldest grandson, I would love to reach out to anyone with one of grandad's more unique pieces, from his earlier unglazed vases and rustic pieces, to platters and plates (he loved making functional pieces) as well as his more unusual works. We would love to see some pictures of his works, and if any of you are thinking of parting ways with them we would love to be your first option. Some of my favourites were his blue green copper based glaze pieces, and the darker brown and red raku fired pieces. Some of my fondest childhood memories were visiting both his original workshop in Napier in the late 90s/00s and seeing him embrace the true potter's spirit at fireworks in Putaruru towards the tail end of his time.
His warm and calm nature heavily influenced all of us younger generation (Ryan, Luke, Dallas, Kayla, Shannon and Matthew) and I would love to be able to keep his memories, legacy and work alive.
So to all with a special piece of pottery, I ask only you share the hidden gems you are lucky enough to have
