This is my latest piece of 1280, and learning as I go, I had assumed all these pieces were pin/butter dish size, but as above Kat's is 16cm diameter, and this one, although it looks flattish in the photo, is actually a bowl, and 245mm (almost 10") diameter! it is substantially made compared to my pin dish.

Snap. I have just found an almost identical bowl but can't get a picture to get on the site. Same colours but only two flowers.

pattern - Barry Ball - Page 2 Empty I need help with this please - is it a 1280 piece too?

Post  mumof1 Wed 13 Aug - 16:51

pattern - Barry Ball - Page 2 Dsc02610
I thought I was sure this was a 1280 piece also, but there is no proof. It is exactly the same green as my bowls, and has the faded white around the flowers
pattern - Barry Ball - Page 2 Dsc02611
There is nothing on the base, except for felt pen that someone has gone mad with. There does appear to be a mark where a sticker may have been though. What do you think? It is in the same style of flowers and colouring. Fingers crossed  sunny

I would definitely think this is by Barry Ball. The base is probably too small to have the MADE IN NEW ZEALAND stamp, which on my bowl is in a straight line. Does that felt tip word say Ball at the bottom of the photo?

The base is big enough for the stamp Dollcrown, but as it is not glazed, I am unsure if they would stamp it. The other vase in this post is not glazed or stamped either, which is why I thought this may be a 1280. So glad I bought it now. The felt on the bottom I think is supposed to be Sally.

Post  Jeremy Ashford Mon 14 Mar - 9:51

Another 1280 pattern in the 16cm size.
pattern - Barry Ball - Page 2 1280a10

It is finer than the one with yellow flowers (a pattern we already have), the footring is unglazed, the colour is a bit different and it has no mark.
