I have a set of six bowls with handles that I would like to have confirmed as being made by Len Castle.
The impressed mark looks, to my untrained eye, to be an early Len Castle mark, but the pattern on the bowls looks more like Crewenna Pottery to me.
I welcome your comments and any information you can give me which would help me to describe them for a possible future sale.

Great to see you on the site meoldchina Very Happy
The mark and work belongs to Bruce Lissant-Clayton and his mark often gets confused with Len Castles especially on Trade Me.

Thank you. It sure does look like a Len Castle mark. I should have recognised the style of pottery as being Lissant-Clayton. I see a lot of his pots in Nelson. He was a very accomplished potter, in my humble opinion. I know little about the potter's skill, but when I see that these six bowls all sit comfortably inside each other without wobbling over, it makes you realise that he his a master craftsman. However, I have to admit that the pattern doesn't set me alight! It's of its era, I suppose.
