I reckon there are LOTS of NZ made lamp bases that we are not noticing. Most are unmarked or grrr they have non-skid fabric glued on the base. I think that more than we realise are made in NZ.
PLEASE lift up every lamp you see and check.   Lots are ("Made in China" but it would be lovely to find more which are not.)

I have posted below (with links) the examples I can find on the site so far.
Clay Craft - this one is actually marked!  From Haselnuss.

Galylite - mainly made by Titian in NZ? - not sure. I haven't posted a pic here, but look at this link.

Gaylite also imported lamp bases from overseas. I think Italy, Germany, Japan, Australia.

I haven't seen many that were made by Titian but some made by Crown/Lynn.

I am sure that I researched a few years ago that this Gaylite lady was made by Lefton Japan. She is not NZ made.

I hope someone knows where this Gaylite China man was made. I read that Titian made two China men connected with a basket on a stick. Could it have one China man with a stick and two baskets like the figure in the second picture?

Unmarked old lamps purchased in NZ which could have been NZ made.

I am pretty sure this one was made by Halls.Lamp bases detective work required Dscn5421

Spartan made these Crinoline ladys and the one on the picture could be Titian made. I have two unmarked possible Titian ladies. Germany made a similar lady which would have been marked on the base and the decoration looks different too.

Is the matching lamp NZ made or German?Lamp bases detective work required Dscn3911

I think this is a Crown Lynn shape. Salisbury decorated. Or was the shape also made by Titian because they sold vases to Paramount Trading company as stated in the Gail Henry book.Lamp bases detective work required Dscn5310

That fat yellow one looks very like Beach Artware in shape and texture.  I will see what I can find out.
The next challenge will be working out which of the stickers are from the makers of the ceramic base, and which are from the company that did the electric fittings.
This is a whole new universe!

Beach, That is what I thought too when I had a look at it to decide if it "qualifies" for the forum.

My last unmarked possible NZ lamps.

This one could be a Polygone lamp.Lamp bases detective work required Dscn5424

Lamp bases detective work required Empty Gaylite Figurine Lamp Base

Post  mike67 Wed 30 Sep - 14:08

This Gaylite lamp has the typical rod and ferule lamp holder. Sticker intact. Looks to be the original figurine but I guess it could have been changed. Looks much like Haselnuss' examples. Could be Italian or very good Japanese. It does have a silky Capodimonte feel about.

Well, I have read that Titian made a fancy blue boy like figurine with gold lace for someone who wanted to make them into lamps.
But I was under the impression that the Brown's used the Titian blue boy shape and just decorated him in white with gold lace instead of the blue.

I have seen a couple of these lamps on trade me and wondered who made them too.

The lamp doesn't "cry out" Titian and I agree with Mike that it could be Italian or somewhere else from overseas.

Lamp bases detective work required Empty For gallery confirmed Beach

Post  Maryr Wed 7 Oct - 11:33

Hi Haselnuss and Ev
Sharon from Beach has confirmed that your yellow lamp base is indeed Beach - Sharon's husband who also worked at the factory can remember Peter Beach experimenting with that yellow glaze.
Wonderful!

This lamp looks very similar to some of the NZ made examples found such as Terra.
I have not cut the base away yet to look for a mark. Air brushed style shading around the deep waist also looks very familiar. 230 mm tall and wide.
