A different number 507 ? Those annoying low 500's again!
I saw this auction on Trade Me, for a 511 vase, but the shape from the Auckland Museum in the gallery is totally different. Which is the right shape? I am considering buying this, but am confused regarding the shape. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: A different number 507 ? Those annoying low 500's again!
The 511 in the Gallery is Crown Lynn..... the 511 in the link isn't.
There are a few pieces in the early 500 shapes that get listed as Crown Lynn, but are not.
I have come across some of these pieces and they are too light weight and the finish isn't as good as Crown Lynn. Not sure who made them, perhaps Titian at one time?

That is another from the same range in the low 500's that we discussed recently.
Not sure who made it but it could be Titian before Crown Lynn took them over ....?

Different 507
I have a very similar vase same height but with 4 bands and it is numbered .506.
Can't send a photo at present the file copy I have is rejected as not allowed.
Will need to take another photo with reduced pixels maybe.
Have always thought that it is Crown Lynn slipcast.

It would be great to see a photo of the number Jonno,
as if I recall correctly the numbers are a lot bigger than any Crown Lynn numbers that I've seen.

Crown Lynn .506. Vase ??
Here a some photos I have just taken Ev . and have included my .135. Vase as a comparison .
Very good copy of CL even the crazing looks similar the body colour is a very good match.
506 is 110 mm high. The numerals are about 7mm High and on the 135 they are
about 7mm high also.
Your comments would be appreciated.
